Anniversary Celebrations and Buca: A Marriage Made in Heaven
Celebrating a wedding anniversary is a joyous time in a couple’s life, especially when celebrating a milestone like a 25th, 50th, or 60th. While most of these anniversary parties are hosted by a couple’s children, siblings and close friends also choose to host, or often the couple organizes the party themselves. There are no rules for who the host(s) should be, only that the loving couple receives the celebration they deserve.
At Buca di Beppo we love to celebrate love. Our specialized decor and wonderful wait staff provide a perfect environment to host an anniversary party. Simply make reservations with us if your party is small or reserve one of our dining rooms if your party is larger.
A few things you may want to consider before your party:
- Choose a date and time. If you are planning for the couple, (possibly as a surprise,) be sure they are not otherwise engaged for the evening you are choosing. Also consider whether they are night owls or early birds to accommodate their schedules.
- Prepare a guest list and send out invitations several weeks in advance if your celebration is more than a few guests. Printed, handwritten, or emailed invitations with RSVP cards/notifications will help give you a fairly accurate head count for seating and meal planning. Be sure to include the names of the guests of honor, the day, date, and time of the event, where it will be held, and the host(s) contact information.
- Decide if gifts will be accepted. The couple may choose to open gifts during or after the party. Be sure a list of who gave each gift is made if they choose to open gifts at the party. If the couple does not wish to receive gifts, it should be noted on the invitation.
- Order a cake or dessert. A sweet treat is often decorated for the special couple. Have this delivered to your party location in advance and assign someone to be responsible for when it should be presented to the couple.
- Designate a photographer. Practically everyone has cameras on their phones but rarely do they give the perfect outcome. Hire a photographer or ask a friend or family member who enjoys taking photos to record the special event.
- Consider your toasts. A wonderfully thoughtful touch to the evening, a toast is generally given by the host(s) and often the anniversary couple say a few words as well.
- Decide on favors. Small party favors for guests are appreciated and can be personalized to commemorate the celebration.
A wedding anniversary party is a special time for family and friends to congratulate and celebrate a major milestone in a special couple’s life. If you or your loved ones have an anniversary approaching and you’d like to celebrate, Buca can help to make your party fun, romantic, and memorable. Let us fill you and your guests’ stomachs while the anniversary couple’s love fills your guests’ hearts.
Trick or Treating Tips to Make This Year’s Halloween the Best Ever
The end of October brings around a very exciting night for most kids—Halloween! We want all of our little ghosts and goblins to be safe and have fun so here are a few trick or treating tips:
Want to feast well on Halloween? Book Your Halloween Catering Here!
- Plan a route in advance. Consider the age of your children so you don’t end up far from home when your littlest one gets tired and doesn’t want to walk anymore.
- Review road safety. Only cross at corners or in crosswalks, and obey traffic signals. Never dart out into the street and always be watching for cars.
- Wear comfortable shoes. This goes for parents and youngsters. Many a princess has had to be carried by her prince (dad) due to the desire to wear uncomfortable dress shoes.
- Be well seen. Reflective tape, glow sticks, and flashlights will help your ghouls see as well as be seen.
- Ditch the masks. Face makeup is much more comfortable than a mask and children’s views are not obstructed.
- Remember manners. Remind your little devils to say “thank-you” or ask “how many?” before digging into a candy bowl.
- Enter homes only with a trusted adult. Some neighborhoods have “haunted” houses set up or small buffets, be sure to discuss in advance what you will do if you are invited into someone’s home who is doing this.
- Check your child’s candy. While safety is your number one concern here, you’re also on the look-out for your favorite mini candy bar…you know the one that’s going to “disappear” when your little monster falls asleep.
- Fill everyone’s tummy with something yummy before heading out. A balanced meal featuring protein and fiber will help prevent crazy blood sugar spikes and crashes from mini-candy binges.
A great Halloween idea is to get a group together to eat before everyone heads out in search of candy. Swing by Buca di Beppo and grab some Buca To-Go because everyone can agree that kids (and parents) love pasta! No one will have to cook and instead you can concentrate on making sure that Cleopatra’s eyeliner is perfect or perform the last minute modifications to your little vampire’s cape. Everyone can eat together and show off their costumes before deciding which doorbell they want to ring first. This is also a great time to get some group pictures while everyone’s freshly attired and not yet running in all directions.
Popular hours for trick or treating generally range from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and are often posted in local newspapers or on neighborhood websites. Depending on the size of your group, decide to all leave and return at the same time or divide up based on age groups. Have the little ones head out early so they can be home near their regular bedtimes and let the older kids go together with a designated parent who will stay out later.
With a little planning this year can be the best Halloween ever. Let Buca take care of your pre-trick or treating meal so everyone can focus on having a spooky, fun night together!

Invite Buca to Your Holiday Luncheon
As 2015 draws to a close, it is time to celebrate your staff. Between Thanksgiving and the New Year everyone begins to feel a bit stressed, both personally and professionally. Family obligations mixed with end of year work projects can make even the most selfless person want a little recognition. Holiday luncheons allow you and your staff to celebrate the year’s individual and company successes as a team.
Regardless of the size of your organization, employees appreciate the ability to bond over their organization’s accomplishments. Everyone likes to know where the organization stands, what it has achieved this year, and how they contributed to that success. Give a short speech and invite others to say a few words about their departments or projects, then hand out awards, draw for raffles, and announce door prizes. Team building activities and friendly competitions can also add a light-hearted air to the afternoon.
Luncheons are the most common type of holiday party because they generally take place during regular work hours and are celebrated at the workplace. No travel or transportation logistics need to be arranged, but that doesn’t mean that it’s just another day at the office! Entertainers, DJs, or motivational speakers would add a fun element to your party. Decorate and maybe even consider a theme. Depending on the size of your workplace, designate a single buffet area for all the food, or if space allows, set up multiple stations (salad bar, dessert bar) to allow mixing and mingling.
If you’d like to change it up a bit, choose a community service project for your employees to do together. Whether assembling care packages in your office or spending the day on location, offer a catered holiday meal to keep your team fueled up for their project.
This year, ditch the traditional office potluck. Shopping for, preparing, and transporting a dish to the office means more work for everyone in their already busy schedules. Let Buca cater your luncheon and know that everyone will be delighted by all the delicious dishes we offer. Multiple dietary options are available, including vegetarian and gluten-free, insuring no one is left out of the festivity. From a variety of salads and entrees to desserts and drinks, we can take care of everything. We even provide all the necessary additions such as plates, silverware, and napkins.
Start planning your holiday luncheon now by deciding a date and sending out informal email invitations to your employees. RSVPs can be requested but generally a majority of your staff will be able to attend since the event is being held during their normal work hours. Clients and spouses aren’t usually invited to holiday luncheons but you may want to consider this gesture and be sure to specify exactly who is invited on the invitations.
Don’t forget to invite Buca! A catered lunch from Buca is a wonderful way to show your staff how much they mean to you and the company. Equipped with a date and number of attendees, your local Buca restaurant will work with you to coordinate and plan the perfect holiday luncheon that your staff will remember well into the New Year.
We Love Pasta So Much That We’re Giving It Away: Come to Buca October 25 to Celebrate World Pasta Day
Pasta is loved across the globe, so much that in 1995, the World Pasta Congress declared World Pasta Day. This year, to celebrate Buca di Beppo will be giving away a 1 pound bag of pasta and a coupon good for a future visit to all of our guests on October 25 Our World Pasta Day Giveaway is a one day only event so mark your calendars and plan to join us!
At Buca, pasta is our passion. Come in and let our chefs prepare for you one of our specialty or traditional pasta dishes. Feeling adventurous and want to try something new? Our Spicy Chicken Rigatoni pairs chicken breast with garlic, crushed red pepper, and peas in a spicy rosa sauce. Want to stick to the classics? Our Fettuccine Alfredo or Spaghetti with Meatballs will never disappoint. No matter what you choose, it will be cooked to perfection and served to you by our attentive wait staff.
Celebrate later around your home table by serving our pasta gift as a side dish or a main. Make it your own with olive oil, garlic, tomato, and hot pepper flakes. Pump up the protein with some beans or meat for a richer flavor. Add bright vegetables and fresh herbs like basil and parsley. Make a tried and true family favorite, toss up a simple pesto, or top with a thick, chunky sauce. Make it light and fresh or creamy and cheesy. Whatever you choose, we want you to carry our restaurants’ fun, festive environment into your own kitchen.
Besides being delicious, pasta possesses a variety of nutritional benefits. The starchy carbohydrate contains minerals and vitamins, such as vitamin B, which includes folic acid and niacin. Protein and cholesterol levels range between pastas. Pasta made with eggs contains twice as much protein as pasta made without eggs, but pasta made without eggs contains no cholesterol. Since whole grains have been proven to be beneficial in the fight against heart disease, strokes, type 2 diabetes, and obesity, whole grain pasta is a delicious way to add more whole grains to your diet. Whole wheat pastas contain additional important minerals such as magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium, zinc, selenium, and manganese. Pasta is also low on the glycemic index, meaning it is digested slower than most other carbohydrates, preventing blood sugar spikes and providing a steady supplies of energy.
A surge of Italian immigrants to North America in the late 19th century changed our nation’s diet, but pasta is now a staple in most American kitchens and restaurants. Whether paired with olive oil, vegetables, fish, cheese, or meat, pasta is embraced for its versatility, availability, and affordability. This pantry necessity is incorporated into soups, lasagnas, baked dishes, and salads. While initially simply tossed with tomato sauce and oil, pasta dishes are now only limited by a chef’s creativity. So come to Buca to experience our chefs’ masterpieces and then test out your own talent at home with our complimentary 1 pound bag of pasta to celebrate World Pasta Day. One day only—October 25
Home or Away, Tailgate the Buca Way!
Fall weather means football and football means food! Whether you’re planning on spending the day at the stadium or hosting a football party at your house, let Buca provide the delicious eats. Our catering options allow you to focus on the festivities, not hover over a grill or spend all your time in the kitchen. Whether you decide on one of our Italian Feast Packages or customize your order to include the exact selection and sizes of salads, entrees, side dishes, and desserts for your crowd, you’re sure to score major points with your guests. Our Half Party Pans feed up to 10 people and our Full Party Pans serve up to 20, meaning we can accommodate any size football party. We also provide all the necessary dining ware (plastic plates, utensils, and napkins) to accompany your order.
If you are heading out to support your team we have some tailgating tips:
- Plan to arrive 3 – 4 hours before the game and stay 1 to 2 hours after the game to avoid the packed parking lot departures.
- If you don’t already have a favorite spot to park, look for a spot at the end of row. Bonus points if you’re near a grassy area to set up some games (cornhole, horseshoes) and to throw a football or frisbee with your friends.
- Set up a canopy or picnic tent to protect you and your fellow tailgaters from the elements.
- Fly a flag or tie a balloon to your site for easy identification of your location in the crowd.
- Be prepared. Jumper cables, rain gear, bug spray, sunblock, and a first aid kit aren’t the first things you think of packing but you’ll be glad you have them if you need them.
- Settle in. Set up your folding chairs, tables, and blankets in a shady spot with your coolers and plastic cups nearby. It’s a good idea to have an entire cooler solely for ice for drinks.
- When departing, respect the stadium and team by leaving your area clean. Pack plastic trash bags for cleaning up at your site.
If you are hosting a football party at your house:
- Designate the area you and your guests will be watching the game and provide comfortable seating.
- Use real glasses. Better still put your glasses in the freezer for a few hours pre-game to make everyone’s beverages extra frosty.
- Check in advance to make sure your game will be broadcast in your area and that your cable carrier will be providing it.
- Have a halftime plan. A quick game of touch football or a few hands of cards will pass the time until your team is back on the big screen.
No matter where you celebrate, be sure to dress in your team’s colors and have a few extra accessories for those who forgot (colored bead necklaces and temporary tattoos) but don’t want to be left out. Let Buca cater your next tailgate or home football party so you can focus on having fun with your friends and family while cheering your favorite team to victory!
Dynamite Date Night Ideas
Whether it’s your first date or you two are trying to think of something new, everyone could use a hand when it comes to thinking up date night ideas. Break out of your comfort zones and give something new a try. We have a few suggestions that are guaranteed to be memorable.
Get active! Take a dance class and practice your teamwork skills on the dance floor. Buy a day pass and try the newest workout club. Sign up for a 5K and make a training schedule together. Take a stroll through the neighborhood or local park, or head to a state park for a more intense hike. Head to a nearby lake and rent a canoe or a kayak. If it’s a breezy day, go fly a kite. Lace up some skates at the roller rink. Physical activity is great for increasing your emotional bond.
Catch a show! Try something beyond the local movie theater. Laugh and tap your feet at a comedy or a jazz clubs. Experience the limits of the human body and voice at a ballet or opera performance. These are also great “last minute” options since often there are often discounted tickets online.
Take a tour! Breweries, wineries, and distilleries frequently offer tours to teach patrons about the production process and to sample the results. Most tourist attractions such as museums, aquariums, and zoos have guided tours that will teach even the most knowledgeable guest some new information. Both experts and novices can come away from a tour with a new appreciation of a process, technique, or artist.
Take a class! Whether you are looking for multiple classes or a single experience, learning something together takes the pressure off having to maintain a constant conversation but gives you each something exciting to talk about after the class. Together you can learn photography, how to play guitar, or a new language. If you are looking for a single, practical lesson, your local home improvement center offers lots of free classes most weekends. Discussing and practicing what you’ve learned together will continue your connection beyond the initial lesson.
Go for the classic! Dinner and a movie is a classic for a reason…because everyone loves it! Italian cuisine is always the top choice for a dinner date and here at Buca we will make your night extra special. Visit us before or after you catch the latest big screen release to share a romantic meal.
If you want to try a slight variation on “the classic” date, have a picnic. Pick up a few Buca selections to-go and enjoy them before an outdoor performance or while watching the sun set. Another option is to pick up your Buca treats and spend the night in with a movie marathon, playing board games, or binging on your favorite television shows.
No matter what you decide to do on your next date, let Buca be a part of it. Choose to have our wait staff and chefs prepare your dinner while you relax at our restaurant or take your meals to another fun location, either way, a delicious Buca meal is the perfect addition to any date.
